Fort Charles | Treasure Beach | Jamaica
We invite you to sit by the pool or on the "Hot Rock", take a stroll through the garden, see the variety of plants indiginous to the Island. Relax by the water in one of our hammocks and let the sound of the ocean and the wind soothe your mind.

We are located on the South Coast of the Island, away from all the hustle and bustle of the traditional Tourist areas. Our friendly staff are here to ensure, that your stay is a magical experience.

Treasure Beach consists of 5 bays. Great Bay, Calabash Bay, Frenchman's Bay, Billy's Bay and Fort Charles Bay.

  • Calabash Bay and Frenchman's Bay have Bars, Restuarants and stores. I refer to this as the "STRIP".
  • Billy's Bay is a small village that  also has restuarants and bars. Billy's Bay got it's name from the Pirate William Rackum.
  • Fort Charles Bay. (on the map called Starve Gut Bay). 11 miles of beautiful sandy beach, safe for swimming and quiet. This is where Christopher columbus landed in 1494. Fort Charles Bay is a public beach, however, you will always have the beach to yourself except, by chance, there are fishermen pulling their nets with the fresh catch of the day.

Button Bay Beach Getaway is within a community-based tourism who are determined to keep our herritage, involved in keeping our visitors happy and safe, we are laid back, friendly and proud, independant, hospitable, and proud to be Jamaican. The Parish, St. Elizabeth is otherwise known as the "Bread Basket of Jamaica". A community of industrious farmers and sea fearing fishermen. The citizens of this desert like costal region have a strong desire to share the calm, untouched natural beauty of our varied landscape.

As several of our visitors describe Tresaure Beach as "untouched".

The two and a half hour scenic drive from Montego Bay takes you through the Parish of Westmoreland past Peter Tosh Country and over the Black River bridge, (watch out for the crocs) to the beautiful unspoiled area of Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth. Or you could choose to travel from Jamaica's cosmopolitan capital, Kingston, travel down Highway 2000 where you go through Clarendon, then through the salubrious Mandeville, then onto Spur Tree Hill, where you look down into the valley where you will see the heads of two crocodiles meet, this is where Alligator Pond is located the home of Little Ochi Seafood Restaurant. Once you arrive at the green gate surrounded by fish pot sticks it makes you feel that you are entering your own Caribbean dream.

The Almond Terrace is our cozy dining area that overlooks the Caribbean Sea. While having breakfast, you will have to look out for the Dolphins and the sounds and sights of our Humming Birds that suck the nectar from the abundance of plants that surround the area. Before dinner have a drink and watch the sun setting as in a matter of minutes it sinks into the horizon. Watch for the green flash and make a wish.

"The Pirate’s Cove” - additional private beach!

What's the attraction, you ask? Well if you are a big fan of sun-sand-and-sea vacations. Imagine sitting on the cliffs with the ocean surging just meters below. On the right day, the waves crash like the sound of thunder and white foam and spray lift high in the air. If you do not enjoy the heat of the beach, you can nestle beneath large stones and trees and enjoy the sounds, escape the breeze and find any degree of privacy you might prefer.

The Pirate's Cove is spot-on. People are friendly and welcoming, lifestyle relaxed, cuisine varied and delicious - We are located in Treasure Beach on the South Coast of the Island. The weather is fabulous. The Pirate's Cove is affiliated with Button Bay Beach Getaway; however, it is totally private and away from the family pool, beach, villas and the common areas of Button Bay. The Pirate's Cove is strictly for the guests who are staying at Button Bay. This is to ensure your comfort and privacy.
